The North Santiam Canyon is home to five incorporated cities: Lyons, Mill City, Gates, Detroit and Idanha and is home to six unincorporated communities: Mehama, Elkhorn, Opal Creek, Niagara, Breitenbush and Marion Forks. The majority of our highway frontage lies outside of these communities, but the majority of our businesses thrive within city limits. That’s because our primary business owners are also our neighbors, which makes it easy to establish collaborations and partnerships.

The North Santiam Chamber of Commerce is run by volunteers and does not have a staffed visitor center. Instead, we have four locations in the North Santiam Canyon where visitors can pick up maps, local information and member brochures.
